- Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kirksville, MO
- Metropolitan Hospital, Grand Rapids, MI
- West Michigan Reproductive Institute, Grand Rapids, MI
Dr Andrew was born and raised in Southern California and was interested in science and medicine from a young age. In high school, he was 1 of 3 students in the anatomy and physiology class who was allowed to dissect, tag, and study a human cadaver in addition to the cats, dogs, frogs, etc. He also studied electro physiology at that time.
Later Doctor Andrew was accepted to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where he studied pre-medicine with most of his interest in exercise physiology. He enjoyed teaching an anatomy lab course, assisting in the advanced anatomy lab course, and proof reading/reviewing x-rays, diagrams, and graphs in a college anatomy & physiology text book which was published a year later and sent to schools all over the country. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Pre-medicine in the exercise science department.
Dr Andrew attended medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medical School, one of the founding schools of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. His favorite rotations were in plastic and reconstructive surgery of which he spent several months. He met his wife during his last year of medical school and they eventually married and moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan to complete an internship.
He completed a Family Practice Residency with an emphasis on gynecology and infertility at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Doctor Glen Andrew DO especially enjoyed his training in pelvic laparoscopy treating endometriosis and his rotations in infertility. The infertility became more interesting and important when Dr Glen Andrew DO and his wife were going through infertility treatment themselves to conceive their first child. They know from experience the frustrations, invasive tests & procedures, and emotional roller coaster that comes with infertility.
Dr Andrew gained experience, trained and worked at the West Michigan Reproductive Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. While there, he gained valuable experience working with an exceptional team of Reproductive Endocrinologists.
In 1996 Dr Andrew and his Family moved to Utah and began practice with a group in Payson. He has been in practice for over 15 years having done >1000 IVF cycles with very high pregnancy rates and great success in helping many through their health issues. There are times when his pregnancy rates are among the higher rates in the country and yet he has always felt it important to keep prices low so young couples can afford his services instead of enjoying the affluence many of his peers enjoy.
He and his embryologist were the first in Utah and among the first in the West to offer minimal stimulation in vitro cycles and with great success. Thomas Chang, his embryologist, is exceptional in performing sperm micro manipulation (ICSI) and he has been doing Vitrification ( a newer form of cryopreservation of eggs and embryos) since 2007.
Dr Andrew and Thomas Chang frequently attend national and international reproductive conferences to stay abreast of new developments in the field of reproductive medicine and continually strive to improve.
Dr Andrew's personal interests include his Family which consists of a wife and four children as well as an additional high school student from Taiwan. His wife is a registered nurse. Dr Andrew enjoys Canyoneering, hiking, and Rockclimbing and has taken courses in California and Utah including canyon rescue training techniques from the American Canyoneering Association. He is a private pilot who loves to fly and has always had a fascination with aviation. He also enjoys many other outdoor sports, activities, and adventures. Dr Andrew is very active in his church, enjoys the scouting program and has assisted with many scout related events and outdoor adventures.
