Is your body providing enough hormones for you to have a decent quality of life?
Too many men and women go through their early to middle age years or even through a significant part of their life without the natural benefit of sufficient hormones to give them a normal quality of life. Why, mostly because they don’t know or do not believe that there is anything available to help them. Hormones are not a fix for everything and everyone, but there are far too many who can benefit from natural hormone therapy who are living well beneath their potential because of hormone deficiencies.
Bio-identical Bio-equivalent Hormone Therapy properly balanced can significantly improve one’s energy, zest for life, ability to think, concentrate, and provide them with more strength and endurance. In most of these individuals they also have very low to no libido or orgasmic response and their marriages suffer. There are also many other symptoms which can be improved which are not listed here which may be related to hormone deficits including headaches, high blood pressure, urinary incontinence, vaginal dryness, osteoporosis, etc.
There are many forms of bio-available hormones available including creams, gels, patches, pills, and injections but in my experience, none hold as much potential and promise in improving symptoms over the long term than hormone pellets inserted under the skin under local anesthetic 2-3 times/year. The stability of hormone levels over time are significantly improved through these long acting natural hormone pellets which dissolve completely over many months. Hormone pellets are one of the best kept secrets since the late 1930’s that shouldn’t be the best kept secret because there are so many people whose lives would be better if they were on them that it is more of a tragedy that more people are not told. There is nothing mystic about them, no magic, just pure physiology, and pure common sense. Our own body hormones have amazing, vital functions in the body that when due to stress, environmental factors, modern chemicals, oral soy products, our own genetics, disease processes, etc our bodies may produce enough to survive with but insufficient amounts to really feel normal.

Hormones are chemical substances that are produced in glands within the body including the hypothalamus in the brain, the pituitary, thyroid, adrenal, pancreas, ovaries, testicles, fat cells, etc.. These hormones have activating and regulating effects on other body tissues and organs, helping to regulate their activities. Many of the body’s hormones begin from the conversion of cholesterol so if your body is depleted of sufficient cholesterol, you will not have a normal amount of hormone production.
If you are a female and have a uterus (haven’t had a hysterectomy), any estrogen you get whether your body makes it or you are getting it from a source other than what your body is making, you must balance it with progesterone. (If your body is working properly, it will make progesterone in the last 13-14 days of your cycle and you don’t have to worry about it, but if your body is not making sufficient amounts you will have problems). If you are not getting enough progesterone in the last half of your menstrual cycle, you will have irregular or heavy bleeding problems, short or too long menstrual cycle intervals, or if you have not had a period for longer than 6 months to a year and your uterus is getting estrogen, you could develop an endometrial cancer. If you are menopausal and taking estrogen (Estradiol is the most active form of estrogen), then you should be on some form of progesterone daily to balance it out.
For Men and Women, natural Testosterone helps reduce some of the risks of a variety of cancers, as it is anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic which means it increases cancer cell death instead of growth. Natural progesterone also can reduce breast cancer risks.
DHEA that one can obtain without prescription is not very helpful unless your levels are extremely low as it can increase the risk of breast cancer and more often causes peach fuzz type of hair growth on arms and face.
Here at Hormone Therapy Center of Utah, we work to balance several different hormones and look for natural hormone replacement options as much as possible to supplement or assist hormonally your body to function optimally.
